About Us

​As individuals who mostly seek to aim at improvement and fulfilment in our lives and the lives of others, we always create plans, goals, objectives, and hopes for a better future. For the Inner City Life Choices (ICLC) program, my hope is to reach out to the youth from approximately the age of 13 and older in the inner city of  Dorchester and its surroundings. This sherished goal of mine is to adequately assist this population to become eventually more productive adults to better contribute to the safety and the proper growth of the communities they belong. Firstly, I will begin to tell them my personal story to help them to identify and relate. That is one best approach to create a hopeful rapport which will enable me to teach them successfully; not preach them. Indeed, in my younger age, I have made quite a few bad decisions and many wrong choices that have unfortunately caused me to learn the very hard way by having serious legal issues. That experience has also made me comprehend the true value and the importance of freedom and second chance.

Given the privilege to start a new chapter in my life allowed me to be now an integral directing part of ICLC today. Thus, ICLC is going to be the platform used to demonstrate to the youth we will serve that people can change by improving their lifes and rebuilding their reputation, if they are given the right chance. ICLC’s platform will operate on a 24 hour/7day (24/7) basis to effectively ensure both the targeted population and their famililies are receiving the appropriate support and assistance from our effective professionals at all times. Evidently, efficient outreach as well as committed advocacy will be the driving forces to facilitate the strength of that platform. ICLC wants to be an assured resource they can turn to whenever they are in time of need to express themselves. We will be the ideal option when they are in trouble; instead of the Division of Youth Services; which should be the last resort.

ICLC is a “Get to the Point” program. There is no “sugar coating;” and “nothing is watered down in this program.” Because what we do is essentially to get to the point, our staff, me included, will take these young individuals, full of hope, to tour at times the bad neighborhoods to remind them what can happen when their goals and objectives are not concretize. They will also be reminded that when they do not do anything with their lives, they will unavoidably follow the wrong crowd. And, the outcome will always be:TROUBLE. Consequently, the objective behind this effort is to prepare these young people on a constant and consistant basis to create a sort of progressive “domino effect” that will enable them to become future community leaders, honest professionals, counselors as well. They will be “the hand” that will be the necessary help and assistance to other young adults coming after them. Undoubtedly, this time, they will be positively noticed by the Police, the DA’s office, and city and state officials and employees.

ICLC wants to rebuild thse young people’s charater, confidence, and self-esteem to allow them to possess the will to continue to progress; while steering away from destructive life. The truth about themselves and  how to successfully strive through life in our society will hopefully assist them to alter their thinking process and ultimate succeed and win accordingly. ICLC is going to be the help “the system” needs to contribute to the proper improvement of communities.
